The Blog, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Saukville, Wisconsin.
The course was designed by Arnold Palmer. BOG, The Bog first opened for play in 1995.
This course spreads out on 297 acres of wetlands, woods, rolling hills and wildlife habitat. The out-of-bounds areas are native grasses and wildflowers. The entire western boundary of the course abuts the Cedarburg Bog, the largest peatland in southern Wisconsin.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 7,110 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,110 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 17, a par-5 that plays to 593 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 11, a par-3 that plays to 148 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 9, a 543 yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 11, a 148 yard par-3.
The course was put on the market in 2013 with an asking price of $6.5 million. The course was originally built at a cost of $10.5 - $11 million according to course owner Terry Wakefield. At that time he stated that building the course today (2013) would cost $15 to $20 million. The course sold in 2015 for a reported $1.99 million. The new owners intend to maintain the high standards of this highly regarded course.
